Day 1: Arrival in Lima
Arrive in Lima, the capital of Peru. Spend the day exploring the city's historic center, visiting the Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, and the Cathedral of Lima. Enjoy a traditional Peruvian meal at a local restaurant.
Day 2: Explore Lima
Visit the Larco Museum, known for its pre-Columbian art. Head to the district of Miraflores and walk along the Malecón, a six-mile stretch of parks situated along the cliffs high above the Pacific Ocean. End the day with a visit to the Magic Water Circuit, a park featuring a series of large fountains that light up at night.
Day 3: Travel to Cusco
Fly to Cusco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire. Spend the day acclimatizing to the altitude and exploring the city. Visit the Plaza de Armas, the Cusco Cathedral, and the Qorikancha, the most important temple in the Inca Empire.
Day 4: Sacred Valley Tour
Take a full-day tour of the Sacred Valley. Visit the Pisac market, known for its handicrafts, and the Ollantaytambo ruins, an Inca archaeological site with impressive stone terraces. Return to Cusco for the night.
Day 5: Machu Picchu
Take a train to Aguas Calientes, the town at the base of Machu Picchu. Spend the day exploring the ancient Inca city, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Return to Cusco for the night.
Day 6: Free Day in Cusco
Spend a free day in Cusco. You can explore more of the city, visit local markets, or take a cooking class to learn how to prepare traditional Peruvian dishes. In the evening, consider watching a traditional dance performance.
Day 7: Departure
Fly back to Lima and connect with your international flight home. Enjoy your last views of the beautiful landscapes of Peru.
