Day 1: Immerse in the Natural Beauty of Coorg

Morning

Start your day with a visit to the Abbey Falls, a scenic waterfall located amidst coffee and spice plantations. Take a short trek to reach the falls and enjoy the beautiful view.

Afternoon

Head to the Raja's Seat, a garden with beautiful flowering plants and skillfully designed artificial fountains. The place was a favorite among the kings who ruled Coorg and hence the name. Enjoy the panoramic view of the mist-clad blue hills and valleys.

Evening

Visit the Madikeri Fort, a historical landmark that houses a museum, a chapel, a prison, and a temple. The fort offers a beautiful view of the town.

Day 2: Explore the Wildlife and Plantations

Morning

Visit the Dubare Elephant Camp, a project undertaken by the forest department and Jungle Lodges and Resorts. Here, you can observe and interact with elephants, and learn about their behavior, ecology, and biology.

Evening

Visit the Bylakuppe Tibetan Settlement, the second largest Tibetan settlement outside Tibet, complete with a monastery, Tibetan market, and eateries.


Day 3: Experience the Culture and Cuisine

Morning

Visit the Talakaveri, the place where the River Kaveri originates. The temple on the riverbanks here is dedicated to lord Brahma, and is one of only two temples dedicated to Brahma in India and Southeast Asia.

Afternoon

Head to the Nisargadhama Forest, a beautiful island off the state highway, two km from Kushalanagar town and 28 km from Madikeri. The 64-acre island, surrounded by the Cauvery river, can be accessed by walking across a hanging bridge.

Evening

End your day with a traditional Kodava meal. The Kodava cuisine is a blend of flavors that is heavily influenced by the geography of the region. The use of local ingredients like coconut, ginger, and pepper is prominent in their dishes.
